Trying to figure out if all the Federation development that’s been going on recently means I can now follow an indieweb enabled site like boffosocko.com from micro.blog.
MB can “follow” websites that publish an RSS feed. I’ve been doing that for years.
For many years now you can use micro.blog to follow anything with an RSS feed. Go to the Discover tab, click on the search icon and enter the website or feed address. Or you can follow him via his m.b account @chrisaldrich
@jeannie @yorrike Though one might want to keep in mind that the main RSS feed is far more complete than the more selective range of material which is syndicated into the @chrisaldrich "feed". (Not all feeds are created equal unfortunately.) If you want to follow the Fediverse version of my website, you'd presumably follow my Fediverse "account"/address @chrisaldrich which can be previewed at micro.blog/chrisaldr...
@chrisaldrich apologies, mb concatenated that address, it's @chrisaldrich@boffosocko.com
@jeannie What do you do next? If I enter the address I can see what looks like a header or short profile. How do I turn that into somethng that turns up in the timeline?
Because I don't know exactly what you're seeing I can't say exactly what you need to do from there. Perhaps this help article contains the information you need to complete your task? You can also email help@micro.blog to get direct assistance.
