The term “content” is a barbarism that bit by bit devalues what journalists do.
been banging on about this for years … not just journalists … everyone … I have never understood it … of course - content is homogenous easily replaced fodder that you store in a silo - so I get why the silo owners want to use the term, keeps the costs down … why pay a premium for stuff that is undifferentiated shite.
But why any creative, producer, journalist, artist, writer … would refer to their art, essays, articles, music … their very IP is beyond me … and they are surprised that nobody will pay them?

@JohnPhilpin As a journalist, I know when anyone tells me they want content, it can depress the price of the work. This isn't always deliberate, but it now seems hard-coded into attitudes.
