wow. Doing that in Manhattan would cripple the city. The NJT and busses are already at capacity. That Spanish city has roughly the population of Trenton (capital of New Jersey), 89,000. On an average day in New York City, hordes of commuters pour into Manhattan from other boroughs, doubling the island's population from about 1.6 million to 3.1 million.
@khurtwilliams Sure. It couldn’t work where I live either as so many suburbs either don’t have public transport or have a woeful service. But it could work for districts in big cities.
yeah, I’m in the burbs as well. I prefer trees and nature and hiking over cement. But I commute to Manhattan for work. An overwhelmed and aging transit system pushes many of the 1.6 million who commute to Manhattan into cars. islandinthenet.com/new-york-...
